D. P. Factory BV uses EDI. Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) is a standard for the electronic exchange of certain business documents such as orders, invoices and certain messages or attachments. It is a part of electronic business, particularly in the transport of goods.
There is a number of EDI standards such as EDIFACT (developed by the United Nations), TRADACOMS (British supermarkets). Within the retail and logistics is a very large number of transactions using EDI instead. Many large (international) retailers require their suppliers to use EDI to exchange orders, delivery notes and invoices. EANCOM version of the EDIFACT messages are mostly used for this.
Also Customs declarations (Import, Export and Transit) based on EDI should be passed to the Tax Customs. Today, these standards increasingly taken over by open standards such as XML. Our ERP application provides us herein.
